HighBuild S-200: One-component, eco-friendly mastic for durable waterproofing, forming a seamless, flexible membrane.
HighBuild S-200 it multi-functional one-component environmentally friendly mastic of medium viscosity, specially designed for waterproofing protection of any building structures. Waterproofing treatment can be carried out both on horizontal and vertical surfaces. Waterproofing coating which is created by HighBuild S-200 material does not lose its properties for more than 20 years under the influence of sunlight, acid rain and harmful chemicals contained in the polluted air of industrial areas. After the application of the material, a seamless rubber membrane with good adhesion to any surface is formed. HighBuild S-200 is based on a bituminous emulsion and is a combination of elastomers and acrylic polymers to produce a high strength, fast drying membrane. The material is water-based, solvent-free, non-toxic and environmentally friendly. HighBuild S-200 is a ready-to-use mastic that is applied in a liquid state and, after drying, it forms a flexible elastic membrane that can withstand loads and vibrations without cracking or peeling. The mastic has very good adhesion. At an ambient temperature of +25°C and 50% relative humidity 80%, HighBuild S-200 completely dries off within 24 hours. The drying time increases as temperature drops and humidity rises. Operating temperature range of completely dried material is from -45°C to +80°C (peak -55 C and +95 C)
SCOPE OF APPLICATION
Mastic HighBuild S-200 are designed for:
- for waterproofing any building structures, such as foundations, roofs, brickwork, gas silicate blocks, wooden structures, USB boards, sandwich panels ;
- for repairing any roof coverings, both on horizontal, and on vertical surfaces (junctions);
- for waterproofing outdoors and indoors – toilets, bathrooms, showers, swimming pools, balconies, terraces,
- for sealing attachment points of all air ducts on the roof, technological equipment, superstructures and drain funnels, as well as for sealing joints and junctions of second light lanterns;
- it is used as a sealant in the production of roofing and wall sandwich
- it is used for waterproofing complex geometric building
After complete drying, the treated surface can be the basis for gluing ceramic and other types of finishing tiles using traditional tile adhesives or TilLar S-500 glue manufactured by Liquid Rubber.
PREPARATION OF THE BASE
The base for applying HighBuild S-200 shall be clean, dry, and free of substances that prevent adhesion (grease, dust, gasoline and diesel fuel stains, etc.). The porous surface shall be primed before applying the mastic (the
primer is mastic diluted with distilled water in a ratio of 1: 1)
EXECUTION OF WORK
HighBuild S-200 is applied by a brush, a short-piled roller, a mop, and can also be applied by power-driven airless spraying (eg. by Graco GMAX II equipment). The material is ready to use and does not require mixing. The mastic should be applied in one or more layers, depending on the required application thickness. Each subsequent layer is applied after the previous one has dried off. Bases with deep hollows, sinks should be treated in such a way that no air remains and air bubbles do not form. If there are cracks, gaps on the treated surface, as well as there is a risk that they may appear, the insulating layer shall be reinforced with the reinforcing material (fiberglass mesh or textile tape) which is placed between two layers of the mastic. The recommended coating thickness is at least 0.5 mm.
CONSUMPTION
Material consumption depends on the desired coating thickness and ranges from 0.95 to 3.8 kg/m2.
To get a dry coating layer with the thickness of 1 mm, the consumption of the mastic is 1.92 kg/m2.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF WORK
Work shall be carried out within the temperature range from
+5 to + 30°C and relative air humidity no more than 80%. The material is a medium alkaline substance. Wear protective clothing, goggles and gloves while working. Wash off fresh dirt with water. Cured material can be removed with white spirit solvent. In case of eye contact, rinse with plenty of water and ask for medical advice. When using the material, please, follow current regulations related to construction.
STORAGE
It shall be stored in a dry place in undamaged packaging. The shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture indicated on the packaging. Upon the expiration of the shelf life, it shall be disposed of as construction waste.
WARNING
Keep away from children. Protect from freezing! The mastic should not be applied at an ambient temperature below +5°C and if the rain is expected within 24 hours after the application. Do not apply the material onto wet or frozen surfaces. Avoid contact of the material with any solvents. When applying this product, please, follow safety guidelines, wear gloves, goggles, and other appropriate protective
equipment.
